How to format a new c drive for xp?

Our computer had several trojans and we had to remove everything and partition and reformat the c drive we had trouble doing this so we bought another c drive we are still having heaps of trouble trying to put windows xp on it any detailed help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Insert the Windows XP disk into the computer and set your boot priority to your DVD-ROM through your BIOS. Follow the steps and the setup should format the drive for you and install Windows all at the same time.

Boot from your windows XP CD It will give you the option to create a partition and format it during the normal install process.
