Default Biology and Chemistry for A-levels when I only achieved a grade C at GCSE?

I'm planning on doing biology and chemistry for A-levels, however, I only achieved a grade C at GCSE. I have a big interest for biology and I think chemistry will open a lot of doors for me in the future. I am willing to work hard and I'm extremely motivated. But, how hard is chemistry and biology? I know it's a big jump from GCSE but can someone who is average at science acieve a good grade at A-level?

Thanks!

Many 6 forms / colleges wont accept you on any Alevel course if you dont get A / B. They will tell you its for your own good - that it will be difficult but its really about their pass rates / results. Its more than possible to get a C GCSE and go on to get a good A level pass but you will have to work.
Chemistry is very useful for MANY uni courses, but I agree with 1st reply - it is seen as a very difficult subject.
Good Luck

I got A grades in GCSE biology & chemistry and got a B in chemistry and a C in biology at A-level - talk to your teachers, see what they can recommend. Chemistry is generally accepted to be the hardest A-level.
