Default Visual Basic 6 - Novice question?

Ok ive been programming on VB for years, but with work commitments ive not sat down and done any for about 3-4 yrs my self.

Now I did a course back in 2003 which showed you how to connect a MS Access Database file MDB to ADODC component (ADODC1 default name)

Ive selected:
Use Connection String
Build Button
Selected my DB file
Test Connection Button

All if ok and sucessful
Pressed ok gone to record source
selected 2 - AdCMDtable

and Userdetails appears (A table in that database file)

But every time I run any command like (Example)
A$ = Logindb.Recordset.Fields(1).Value

A$ = Logindb.Recordset.RecordCount

I get a error
Run Time Error 91
Object Variable or With block veriable not set

Can any one help out
or is it because ive not set X as Recordset etc at the header of the scripting
Sorry just to add the connection provider selected was...

Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider
Anna:-
I appreciate your attempt to help me but you have given me a .net link (VB.net) and thequestion is specifically around VB6
RESOLUTION WAS FOUND!:

Want any of the replies given
It turned out I failed to link the components to the ADODC

Example: Text Box to read from ADODC1, Field...

Therefore made the ADODC1 component innactive.

All resolved now
